Accreditation’s hand-in-hand relationship with reimbursement and national competitive bidding (NCB) was emphasized last month when the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced accreditation deadlines for DME suppliers who want to compete in the NCB program’s second round, the list of 70 metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) involved and the list of DME categories.
As providers in the second-round MSAs wait for additional information such as bidding deadlines, Mobility Management checked in with Pride Mobility Products’ Seth Johnson to catch up on accreditation current events and where it all goes from here.
Last month, Dr. Mark Schmeler of the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology discussed hot 2008 rehab topics, including the new ATS requirement. This issue, he follows up with how suppliers can prepare for the Rehabilitation Engineering & Assistive Technology Society of North America’s (RESNA) ATS exam.
